Although He Comprehensively Outlived His Peers, Throughout His Career Pryor Had Been Overshadowed By Men Like Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Walter 'Shakey' Horton And Junior Wells. Yet He Was A Powerful Live Performer And A Genuine Innovator, Certainly One Of The Very First Harp Players To Amplify His Instrument, Electrically. Indeed, Snooky Always Insisted That He Was The First, Despite The Counterclaims Of Rivals. This Compilation Features Everything He Recorded Between 1948 And 1962, That Has Survived. When He Was Rediscovered In The Early 70s, Pryor Went On To Enjoy Particular Popularity In The UK And Europe, And Continued To Gig And Record Into The 21st Century.
